Short biography
Boban Vesin was born on May 31st 1978, in Kikinda, Serbia. He graduated from the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Science, University of Novi Sad, in 2002 with an average score of 8.97. He defended his thesis entitled Function points analysis with a score of 10. In the same year, he enrolled in Master’s studies (Magister studies) at the same Faculty. He passed all exams from the curriculum with an average score of 10. He received his Master of Science (Magister) degree in 2007 when he defended the thesis entitled: Design and implementation of tutoring system for distance learning of Java programming language. He earned his Ph.D. at the same university in September 2014. The title of his Doctoral dissertation was Personalization of learning process in a tutoring system supported with the semantic web technologies.
He is an Associate professor at the School of Business, University of South-Eastern Norway – USN, Norway since June 2018. Before that, he worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, as a Research Engineer at the Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg (2015-2017), as a Software engineer at Schneider Electric DMS Novi Sad (2015) and as Lecturer at Higher school for professional business studies, Novi Sad (2002-2015). He has taught several courses: Applied Programming, Design of e-business systems, Databases, Software engineering, etc.
He has published over 50 scientific papers in proceedings of international conferences and journals in the fields of e-learning, learning analytics, personalised learning, recommender systems, and software engineering.
He is engaged as an expert witness in Serbian court since 2007, and so far, he has been involved in over 50 cases.
