Short biography

Boban Vesin was born in Kikinda, Serbia. He graduated from the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Science, University of Novi Sad, in 2002 with an average score of 8.97. He defended his thesis entitled Function Points Analysis with a score of 10. In the same year, he enrolled in Master’s studies (Magister studies) at the same Faculty. He passed all exams from the curriculum with an average score of 10. He received his Master of Science (Magister) degree in 2007 when he defended his thesis: Design and implementation of tutoring system for distance learning of Java programming language. He earned his Ph.D. at the same university in September 2014. The title of his Doctoral dissertation was Personalization of learning process in a tutoring system supported with the semantic web technologies.

He has been a Professor at the School of Business, University of South-Eastern Norway – USN, Norway since September 2023. Before that, he worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, as a Research Engineer at the Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg (2015-2017), as a Software engineer at Schneider Electric DMS Novi Sad (2015) and as Lecturer at Higher school for professional business studies, Novi Sad (2002-2015). He has taught several courses: Applied Programming, Design of e-business systems, Databases, Software engineering, etc.

He has published over 50 scientific papers on e-learning, learning analytics, personalised learning, recommender systems, and software engineering in proceedings at international conferences and journals.

He has been an expert witness in Serbian courts since 2007 and has been involved in over 50 cases so far.
